Warranty

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I have had a camper for 4 years and lippert fights the warranty on everything. Now the aftermarket water heater has broke, and they are telling me it froze and it absolutely did not. The pictures they said look like it did. Well I have been using the camper and was right there when it busted, so they say maybe it froze before and just now busted. That's not how copper works. I will never own another rv they absolutely refuse to uphold their end of anything.

Poor Customer Service

Lippert Components - Poor Customer Service
Lippert Components - Poor Customer Service - Image 2

It has been a bad experience from the start.

We ordered a three-piece sofa, (2) Euro recliners and a swivel sofa from Lippert's Thomas Payne Collection.

When the order came the recliner was not the style we ordered and one of the euro recliners was a used piece someone had returned, it was scratched and didn't have all the parts.

After about 2 weeks of back and forth with their customer service department, some less than friendly emails from them, they relented and sent out the product we ordered.

I guess they finally got off their *** and listened to the recorded order and realized the error was on their sales staff.

Fast-forward 11 months.

The pull cord that releases the recliner on the sofa had severed when I tried to open the recliner. Still under warranty, I called to make a claim on the cord, they sent out a replacement cord. Not being what you would call a handyman. I looked at how the damaged cord would be replaced, realizing that to repair the replacement part I would have to disassemble the sofa to reattach the cable mount that holds it in place, remove 41 staples that hold the fabric in place, so I wouldn't have to rip the fabric to run the cable out of site and then reattach the fabric and then reassemble the sofa.

When I called to explain my dilemma the sales associate told me I could buy a manual that could assist me in reassembling the sofa. At this point I asked for the interiors' manager, she told me Lippert has no warranty contracts with their dealers and I would have to pay out of pocket for the repairs. After about 5 minutes of conversation with her about how poorly it looks from a customer perspective that they do as little as possible to honor their warranty, she relented and called some local dealers to set up a repair. None that she gave me do on site repairs, I would have take the chair 27 miles to a dealer that would do the repair and pay out of pocket, submit a receipt and invoice to them and they would reimburse me for one hour of service.

Knowing that, any dealer would take the chair fix it in a few days and then I would have to go another 54 miles round trip to pick it up, I asked to be compensated for my time and effort to fix a warranty problem that Lippert created by using low quality parts.

I got another email telling me that, they by sending me the replacement part, honored their warranty.

I would strongly recommend that if there is a comparable product out buy it.

Even with a warranty they will NOT cover anything!!

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
Bought a camper used it one time and was contacted by the rv store there was a recall. Brought it in and after further review the awning is ripping at the seam. They accused us of damaging it even though its stored out of the elements and only used once!! Very crooked company!! Now they want 700 to replace it even though this was a recall and a warranty!

Most of my rv has your parts in it. I am looking for suspension replacement parts

I don't have a complaint. I need to find replacement axel upgrade parts for my 2019 Grand Design Imagine xls 18 rbe. The axels on my rv 3000# have been discontinued, and I was told I needed to upgrade them for 3500 lb axels. I found as ad you have these available.

Peeling theater chairs

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
These chairs are not even 2 or 3 years old. We keep our travel trailer spotless and covered most of the time. Our theater chairs quit working and were replaced by warranty. NOW only a few years old the entire chairs are peeling and look like crap. I contacted Lippert and was told they would do nothing. The quality of these chairs are terrible and will never buy from Lippert again.

Hotspot Issue

Lippert Components - Hotspot Issue
Updated by user Oct 05, 2023

Still not resolved. Have an almost $500.00 product that will never get used still sitting in a box due to their refund policy.

Original review Sep 05, 2023
Purchased a hotspot from them in mid-May 2023. Received product and tried our entire camping trip to get it to work.

Upon returning home spent an hour on the phone to only be told it must be a bad component and they would send out a new one.
7 weeks and several follow up email on the status of the new one it arrived. However, we had already found another means of a hotspot as we had 3 camping trips already planned and have 2 kids to entertain. Not to mention that I truly believed that the new one was never going to arrive and I would have to go through the BBB to get my money refunded.
Our family was heading out for another trip this past weekend and I realized I never contacted Lippert to return the hotspot. When I emailed the customer service department, I was told too bad, too sad as you would have needed to return the device within 10 days of receipt.

I get it, policies need to be put into place. However, when your company takes 7 weeks to correct a problem, how are we to be the ones put out of $430.00???
Your loss as I will be sure to tell every camper on every social media platform of who not to shop with when looking for internet options or any other camping needs.

The quality of their parts and systems are very bad.

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full
I talk to RV enthusiasts every week that have their vacations ruined and they have to spend thousands of dollars for repair. If you try to redeem a warranty you will find that it is a process designed for you to give up. It is a total fraud. They are responsible for the negative growth in the RV industry and the people that have stopped using an RV.

My Thor Highland Ridge is a perfect example of the lousy workmanship, quality of components, quality of repairs and lastly, design. I do not have enough room to put into words the garbage that Thor calls an RV.

The workmanship is very poor. There are more places to complain about from top to bottom, front to rear than there is room for. One of the worst ideas that we find in our Thor Jayco HighlandRidge is the design of the floor and its support. There is a foam board that I believe is 2" thick, with a sheet of thin luan and vinyl floor covering on top.

It is warranteed a year I believe. hat is about when the foam starts to crumble and develops a soft spot, which once started, spreads like grease in a hot pan. After a year, it's your problem! I can open my rear upper cabinet and see the back of my marker light glowing when the sun is shining.

So much for the 3X designation, 3 times the insulation value in this coach.

Thor must have used a bare wall, floor and ceiling with no insulation at all to get this value. don't walk away from a thor, run as fast as you can and don't look back.

Front levelers will not retract

Lippert Components - Front levelers will not retract
The front levelers would not retract. Error said fault extreme angle. Your team identified issue and we found the level controller screws had been installed so hard they not only came through the floor but also widened the hole so that allowed the controller to fall thus causing error. Putin correct screws with washer and unit is safely secured in storage area.

A satisfied customer

stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full stars-rating-full

Last year, we purchased a new 5th wheel RV which came with many Lippert components. I really like the self leveling system but it is pretty easy to screw it up.

I had two instances where I got an error message but couldnt figure out how to correct it. (User error completely.)

Their technical support has been excellent. The first time, I called the RV manufacturer and would have had a 40 minute wait before someone could talk with me. I called Lippert and within minutes, I was talking with tech support and easily corrected the issue.

I called Lippert today about another error message I was getting and again, within just a couple minutes, the problem was easily resolved. Great job, Lippert and thank you.
